How can I stop my cat from throwing up?

hi my cat all ways used to throw up the way we solved it was by putting 2 small spoon fulls into her bowl but we always now use the basics because the other brands are to rich then half an hour later give 2 more spoon fulls then 3 hours later give 3 spoon fulls then if still hungry 4 hours later give some and i mean some dry food BUT not to much thank you for asking kelly
