Should i have bought a gift for my dad on fathers day?

You don't have to buy him a present but I think you should have phoned him or something. You can't just ignore him on Father's day - he's your dad, and at least he has actually been there for you when you were growing up. Even if he was useless back then, he obviously loved you enough to want to stick around.
